The Indianapolis Children’s Choir plays a vital role in the cultural life of central Indiana, nurturing children into confident singers who create extraordinary artistry. The ICC is one of the most established, comprehensive, and respected children’s choral programs in the world, serving children from 18 months to 18 years of age and brings singers together from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds from more than 20 counties in Indiana. The ICC believes in the importance of music education and that the pursuit of artistic excellence is a vehicle for the growth of happier and more successful young people. The community shared by ICC singers is a safe and supportive place where they are encouraged to challenge themselves and accept others. They learn the value of discipline, forge lasting friendships, and develop a sense of pride and a heart for civic service. The ICC is a leader in the children’s choral community, sharing resources with teachers around the globe, taking initiative in curriculum development and making many contributions to the body of children’s choral music. ICC singers participate in a full Concert Season each year and perform by request at nearly 100 community and civic events.
