The Sapling School

Sapling is a year-round, Reggio-inspired preschool designed to provide an intimate learning environment for children ages 3 to 5. Through this approach, we empower and inspire children to discover themselves and the world around them. The mission of Sapling is to honor children by providing them a warm, openhearted school environment with intentional, nurturing educators that deliver the highest quality of early childhood education and foster whole child development. The Reggio Emilia approach was founded in the city of Reggio Emilia, Italy, shortly following World War II. Troubled by the turmoil and strife in the world at the time, educator Loris Malaguzzi picked up the pieces of his bomb-shattered town. He knew he never wanted future generations to experience the disarray his community was facing and saw hope in the youngest of children. This hope inspired him to invest in early learners, to value them, and to give them the autonomy to be active community members, even from a young age. Our goal is to empower children to discover themselves and the world around them, as they become critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and collaborative community members. We aim to inspire children to lead mindful, peaceful, and purposeful lives.
