Las Vegas with Kids: Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage Hotel
By June Santini
People say Las Vegas is like Disneyland for grownups. While that seems to me to be generally true--that the majority of touristy activities in Vegas are intended for those 21 and older--kids and families can also have a good time together in Vegas.
Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage Hotel
Although the famous Siegfried and Roy no longer perform their white tiger revue, you can still see these rare and magnificent animals up close at the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage Hotel. The peaceful, idyllic sanctuary does seem more like a garden than a zoo. There are not a lot of animals, but they are magnificent. The 2.5 million gallon dolphin aquarium is spectacular; the dolphins do not perform shows or tricks, but you may catch them playing with their caretakers or each other.
While you’re at the Mirage, also be sure to check out the amazing aquarium behind the front desk and the incredible tropical atrium. As I’ve said, everything in Vegas is larger than life, and this is no exception.
