Homeschool Mini Jam
It's open to younger children (ages 6-11), it's a shorter time (2 hours), there will be fewer participants (limited to 60!), and it comes with a lower price (only $10 per child!).
Each participant will go through the same 4 activities. We have planned a well-rounded day with one outdoor activity and 3 indoor activities. We will cover seasonal changes, animal adaptations, habitats, animal encounters, and each participant will take home a tiny habitat they create with a roly poly to care for. The activities will be a Winter Hike, Build Your Own Habitat, Snake Myths, and Feathers, Feet, and Beaks.
Registration will begin at 8:00 am on December 7. You may register online at indyparks.org with one of the following program activity numbers: 17962, 18004, 18007, 18008. All participants registered into the same program number will attend all 4 sessions together. If you would like your child to attend with friends, you will need to choose the program number that both families will use. Register early for the best chances of attending with siblings and friends. If you would like your children to attend separately, register them into separate program numbers.
Check-in will begin at 9:30 am. Please arrive with enough time to be checked in by 9:50 am so that our classes will begin promptly at 10:00 am.
There is no lunch break for this Mini Jam. You are welcome to pack a lunch and enjoy the park after the Jam is over, but there will not be any indoor space available for lunch.
Can the adults stay?
Yes. Just like in the regular Homeschool Jamboree, you are welcome to stay with your child or drop them off. If you have children who are 5 years or younger, they may stay with you, but keep in mind that activities are only for the registered participants. Children who are 12 years and older will not be allowed in the Mini Jam sessions.
This program will only be cancelled due to weather if Pike Township Schools close due to weather and road conditions. If Eagle Creek Park cancels the program due to weather, refunds will be given. No other refunds will be provided. Please make sure students are dressed in layers for the outdoor hike.
