First Mondays - Conduct Yourself!

*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 05/06/2019
What does it feel like the first time you step on stage to conduct an orchestra? Jacob Joyce (pictured below), still in his first season as the ISO’s Associate Conductor, will share the secrets with you. By the time we see them at concerts, conductors seem like powerful leaders - prepared, poised, and brimming with confidence. But, what are the challenges, issues, and vulnerabilities that these artists face as they step on stage to bring great music to life?

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Beyond beat patterns and score study, we will learn a bit about the mental preparation and early experiences that shape those that will lead our orchestras into the future. Maestro Joyce will also give us a beginning conducting lesson!

This event will be held at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, located at 45 Monument Circle. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. before the 7 p.m. program.

All First Mondays Series events are free and open to the public, but reservations are required.
