Art2B Summer Camp
This series is intended for teens ages 11-14 (middle school intended), but may be appropriate for slightly older or younger participants. During this 2-week camp students will have two threads of activity each day: Visual Art Making, and Musical Video Creation. Both of these will incorporate themes to help explore the development of our identity and community. Each morning will include art projects, simple yoga, and discussions , and each afternoon will include exploring these themes through music and collaborating to create a music video project.
Camp hours are 10 AM–3 PM (Mon-Fri). Participants will join via video to work in a group as well as work on their own. Time includes a 1-hour lunch break. Both the morning and afternoon portions are part of one camp experience.
Morning projects will be influenced by the interests of the group and may include collage, sculpture and painting, as well as mindfulness techniques. Afternoon projects will include listening and viewing examples of strong women in music, and collaborating to create a shared project in a safe space (not everyone has to sing or play an instrument, there are many roles to play in creating a video). Our activities will focus on developing our own authentic power, including courage, creativity, mindfulness, genuine connection, and self-care.
On the final day, families will be invited to join for a sharing.
