Celebrate the Magic of Christmas in Downtown Danville
Friday, November 27 | 4–7 p.m.
Kick off the holiday season with one of Downtown Danville’s most cherished traditions—Christmas on the Square! Join us the day after Thanksgiving as the courthouse square transforms into a magical small-town Christmas wonderland filled with twinkling lights, festive music, holiday characters, family fun, and, of course, unforgettable memories.
Families can stop by to write letters to Santa and place them in a special mailbox headed straight to the North Pole, visit animals at the live Nativity scene, enjoy seasonal music, and warm up with some of Danville Fire’s famous chili. Keep an eye out for a little holiday mischief too—you never know when a snowball fight might break out with a few festive characters joining in on the fun!
Tree Lighting with Santa
The evening’s most magical moment starts at 6:30 p.m. when everyone gathers around the community Christmas tree for the official tree lighting ceremony. Watch as Santa himself helps light the tree and brings the square to life in a dazzling display of holiday spirit.
Whether you’re continuing a longtime family tradition or experiencing Christmas on the Square for the very first time, this beloved event is the perfect way to celebrate the season in the heart of Downtown Danville.
