The ISI Language Summer Camp blends a variety of instructional and recreational activities to engage children of all ages. French, Mandarin, Spanish, and Portuguese camp days include at least two daily lessons on key words and phrases, dialogue practice, and exposure to traditional music, folklore, and literary stories. Rotating camp themes and hands-on activities include family, food, dance, music, movies, books, history, fashion, jobs, sports, hobbies, holidays, environment, geography, general lifestyle, and more.
New this year - ISI Summer Camp is also offering Enrichment Activities including:
Minecraft Explorers Camp: Minecraft is an open-world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination. As a game-based learning platform, Minecraft offers to engage students and ignite their passion for learning. In this camp, students will solve the puzzle by interacting with the villagers and finding the missing painting pieces by creating coding solutions that include sequences, loops, and conditionals. We will end the camp with a cute axolotl painting on an 11”x14” canvas! No coding experience is needed to attend this camp, all levels are welcome!
Checkmate Chess Camp: Do you know how to play chess? Never played? No problem! Are you a good player who wants to improve? This is the camp for you. Taught by the locally famous Learning Through Games group that is known for making chess fun! Camp will consist of fun lectures, recess, and enjoyable chess games! Great camp for all levels.
