Fall Colors Festival
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 10/19/2019
Come join us on Saturday, October 19, 2019, anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. as we celebrate fall with family fun activities for everyone. We love spending the day enjoying all the fantastic things the naturalists have planned for you. Where else are you able to climb a tree like a professional? They allow you to take aim with an instructor to try your hand at shooting an arrow and flinging an atlatl, which is a long-distance spear that has thought to be around since early humans for over 30,000 years. One of our favorite things about fall is the apple harvest. Makers will show you how to press apples to make cider.
There are so many ways to explore McCloud Nature Park while you are there. Take a stroll around the park and discover over 6-1/2 miles of trails, find your way through the McCloud Prairie Maze created by our team, and jump on the tractor for a ride around the park. Take some time to dip your toes into Big Walnut Creek and see what kind of aquatic life can be found. Peek into the Nature Center and meet our residents, Terri, Chrissy, and Oboe, and watch the birds fight off the squirrels.
We won’t let you go without offering some souvenirs. We’ve got candles and pumpkins and memories to give. Bring your camera and try to capture the fun!
Unless otherwise indicated, all activities are FREE to enjoy! Appropriate for all ages. No advance registration is required.
