Artist Passport Camp (7 – 12 years)
Take a new adventure this year and create your own passport book that includes new travels around the world exploring culture through art. Visit a new continent each day. Create paper mache masks and jewelry from Africa, Mexican Oaxacan animals out of polymer clay, Koi fish painted vases inspired by Chinese pottery, Japanese landscapes, and draw and paint like European old masters.

Wearable Art and Fashion (7 – 12 years)
Draw and design your own fashions that you can make come to life by dying and painting fabrics, then sewing and stitching them with the help of an instructor. This camp is great for boys and girls who like to transform themselves into different characters or dress up. This camp will also include drawing figures, polymer clay jewelry or walking stick tops, basic garment design and construction, masks and experience with a sewing machine. We will do a final runway walk for parents on the last day in Civic Square park.

Myth and Mysteries (7 – 12 years)
Do you think you have seen a Yeti? Do you like stories of buried treasure? This camp will take inspiration from the wild and mythical stories from the ancient world to today. Create maps to buried treasure, pirate ships and clay monsters inspired by Scylla from The Odyssey and paintings of your favorite friendly Yeti.This camp includes a BigFoot hunt in Civic Square and a game of mythbusters.

Contemporary Artists and Material Exploration (7 – 12 years)
Be inspired by a different contemporary artist everyday. What are they trying to say in their artwork and how do the materials help them express their ideas? Spend each day exploring a new medium. Some artists and styles we will look at are: ceramic artist Charlotte Mary Pack who draws attention to endangered animals, Takashi Murakami and anime painting, the colorful patterned prints of Jasmine Floyd and the realistic drawings of Vija Celmins. This camp includes one day of clay including the pottery wheel. These projects will be available for pickup 3-4 weeks after camp.

Tween and Teen Art Week (11 – 16 years)
This camp is especially for older students who want to focus on creating a portfolio of artwork, learn new skills and be creative with lots of opportunities to put your own ideas into your artwork. Projects for this camp will include creating a sketchbook for ideas, an acrylic painting self-portrait and modeling clay figure, watercolor field painting and quirky still life drawing. Students can help focus this week with their ideas and material choices while working on new skills.

Art and Nature (7 – 12 years)
Nature is one of the most popular subjects for artists and we’ll be looking towards it this week for inspiration. Create watercolor field paintings in nearby Civic Square Park, walking sticks with polymer clay animal toppers, paintings of our favorite animals, and flower printed bags or scarves. We’ll also let the sun develop photograms made from things we find. Any nature lover would enjoy this camp.

Problem Solvers Pottery Fusion Camp (7 – 12 years)
Join Jeremy South from Ripple Mobile Arts to create awesome works with clay and glass! A marble maze of clay, wall pocket designs, make believe monsters and deep ocean creatures are just a few of the items we will create during the week. Explore the process of creating with a combination of clay and glass. All items are made from scratch. Every child will have the chance to use the pottery wheel twice. Items will be fired and available for pickup approximately four weeks after camp.
