2021 Annual Fiesta Indianapolis ** DATE CHANGE & NOW VIRTUAL **

La Plaza’s FIESTA Indianapolis, the premier Latino cultural celebration in Indiana since 1980, is held in September in downtown Indianapolis. FIESTA Indianapolis celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month and the Latino community in Indiana. Over 15,000 Hoosiers join FIESTA Indianapolis every year, where they enjoy a day of music, dancing, food, children’s activities, a health and wellness fair, and community service booths. ** PLEASE NOTE CHANGE ** An important update on FIESTA Indianapolis, 2021 festival: We’ve been navigating this pandemic as a front-line organization for over 17 months and have adapted to our changing situation to continue providing essential services to members of our community while ensuring the safety and security of our clients and staff. We’ve followed health guidelines, masked up, adapted new technology at the office, and created safety protocols, among other things. It all looked to be paying off in the spring and summer when the number of virus cases at the local and state level were steadily dropping. However, as much as we want things to go back to normal, the numbers in Marion County have begun to rise in numbers we have not seen since the start of the pandemic. Breakthrough cases are at an all-time high, and we must face the difficult reality of the pandemic lives on. We must put the health, safety, and well-being of our entire community first—our clients, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and partners, and all Hoosier residents. After careful consideration and with consultation from health experts we have decided to proceed to celebrate FIESTA Indianapolis virtually again this year. In lieu of an in-person event this year, we will host our FIESTA Indianapolis virtually on Friday, October 15, 2021. We will send more details about this event in the next few weeks. We will continue to forge ahead and serve some of the most vulnerable members of our communities with necessities like food, rental and utility assistance, technology assistance, weekly virtual tutoring support for students, and interactive live informational sessions for the community at large.
